I was checking the tire pressure on my new baby and noticed on the front tires that the sidewalls have some serious cracking in them. I bought the 03 truck to not be a daily driver so it doesn't get a lot of miles on it. I have had it for almost 4 months and it has 2500 miles on these Goodyears. It is a DRW but the backs look ok. I go through tires like crazy and have never had any do this...

If this normal? I am worried about a blow out with all that weight up front and have heard about the Goodyear failing and destroying the fenders.

Have a Goodyear dealer check'em out asap. If it's an adjustable condition, they should pro-rate them... . hopefully with only 2500 miles, for free. I've read other posts on here about the same problem on the DRW trucks. Hope all goes well !

Do you think just a tire shop or the actual Dodge Dealership?

I don't want to be stopped by the DEA for having that much crack in my tires!!! :)

I have the SRA's on mine and so far no problems in about 25000 miles, lots of the miles loaded. The Good Year dealers in my area have told me that there is a problem with the SRA's. Hopefully you will get a proper adjustment as you should have very little tread wear.

I have about 15k with my GY GSA's and haven't seen any cracking yet. I do notice a lot of bulging on the sidewalls (that I am keeping my eye on) that so far hasn't gotten worse. I'm holding out replacing them until more selection is available.

Really, they are wearing well, and I have no complaints about traction (though I drive 95% on higway).
