Lndrov, you're a genius! I went down and looked at my Michelins, and they say "Made in U. S. A. "

I feel better about them now, although the profit still goes to France! If I could find a tire made in the U. S. A. by an American Company, and the tires were as good as the Michelins I would switch in a Heartbeat.

Well, I think I'm going to try a set of the Load Range D BFG KO's. While I tow pretty heavy on occasion, I don't usually carry too much weight in the bed (short box) so I'm not worried about loseing the Load range E tires. Sam's has the BFG's for $129 each.

What size BFG's are you getting for $129. That size is around $145 at all the Sams Clubs I've been into lately.

I have BFG TA KO 285/75/16's on my truck. I tow 24' gooseneck horse and stock trailer a few weekends per month. I have had it loaded down pretty heavy and haven't had any problems with the D range rating. I have about 65,000 miles on them and there is still a little tread left on them. I need to get some new tires on pretty soon as well as two other trucks but I haven't been able to find a good package deal yet. I'll be in Southern California (High Desert area) this week if anyone can recommend a tire shop that will work a deal on BFG's.

265/75/16 load range D's at Sam's in Marietta Ga. $129 is the base, pre tax price for the tire. I'm mounting them myself, but may have to pay some of the BS disposal fees anyway. I'm going by today or tomorrow to pick up the tires, I'll post my drive out price.

Tires

Bridgestone A/T Revos are by far the best tires I've tried so far.

They handle great in heavy water, & snow, and their quiet for the tread design. I've went through two sets of Cooper and my buddy used up one set of Cooper and one set of Nittos both of us in under 40000 miles. I've got the Revos in Sept. and have over 8000 on them and they still look like I just put them on. I took a trip to northern Mi. in Feb. and had to go through snow higher than my bumper (had to break trail for the Ford behind me) with no problem.

The Cooper tires previously mentioned are also sold as Mastercraft and Herculese. I have a set of the Mastercrafts on both my Dodge and a Jeep G/C. The ones on the Jeep ride great, great traction on snow and mud, but the ones on the Dodge are the sorryest set of tires I have ever had the displeasure to own. The tires on the truck could not be balanced to my satisfaction, even after running 4oz of equal in each tire they still shake. The rubber compound is extremely hard and I have to be extremely careful on wet roads or the tires break loose with no warning. The dealer I purchased them from checked for out of round and found appx 1/2 inch eccentric, when the dealer asked the cooper rep to replace them under warranty the rep responded "this is acceptable to cooper, what does this guy expect, Its a truck". With this said and no replacement of the tires I will advise against the purchase of any Cooper product. All I expect is for the new tires to ride like new tires and not shake. Btw, I allready have an extra set of wheels with Michelin Commercial truck ATX-M/S tires mounted, I'd just like the D*#*#d Mastercrafts to wear some before I pull them off.

For those who like the origional Michlens which in my familly were more than happy with them as my dads truck has over 100k on the origional set and my truck which is 4 wheel drive has 55k and still look great. I have a friend who works in a tire shop here in town who while I was there the other day showed me that they are selling a tire that looks identical but it's under another name thats a subcompany of Michlen. I can't recall the name but I looked at a set they had just mounted on a 2500 V10 dodge and they are the spitting image of mine and they are about half the price. I'm thinking I'm going to try a set assuming them to be roughly the same tire with a different name on the sidewall. Later Seth

I have only 34,000 miles on the 265/75 Michelin LTX's and they are about shot. Course the slide-in is the culprit for the wear as 75% of the miles are with it on.

Any one have a like/dislike for the General Grabber AT2? I can get four for just under $400. Tread looks looks pretty good.

Look at the Cooper Discovery tires. I put 265/75 E range on mine about 15,000 miles ago. They were rated for 60,000 miles. I went with the HT but I know they also offer an AT at that size. Appear to be wearing well.
