Tires for a Chevy 2wd...

A friend of mine has a 2000 Silverado 2wd and the time has come for new tires. Its a 100% on road vehicle that resides in CT, anyone have any suggestions for tires? I'm leaning towards Yokohoma Geolander G/S, but I've never had a 2wd so it's a tad out of my league...

a skinny hwy rib tire would probably be best. . lowest rolling resistance and they usually last longest on all hwy use. it might help out in the fuel economy dept. too...

I had a chevy 2wd and put 60,000 miles on a set of Michelins, took them off for new ones and gave the used ones to my step dad. He ran them for 4 more years on a 2wd GMC and they still had a little bit of tread when he traded the truck in.
