2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Tires/Wheels

I was looking through the new TDR for Aug-Sep 2003 and came upon page 138 posting Scott Walker's dually picture.



I have Rickson 19. 5 wheels and 34"tires on my 96 dually. While I like them for the RPM drop and the looks overall, they are a little too narrow from the front and rear views and I would like to change to larger tires and wheels or just wider tires.



Does anyone have any advice on what Scott Walker is running on this truck? Looking at the pictures it looks as though they are larger tires on stock rims, but unless he knows something I don't I can't see how this would work.



If anyone knows about a 34" diameter tire that will fit on the stock rims of a 96 dually and still have the inner space clearance on the rear duallies could you educate me a little???

I'm going to bring this up to the top again to see if we can get any further information on this. I for one am tired of the dinky 215-85's on my truck. I'm getting ready to replace them and would like to know what Scott had to do to fit these tires on his rig. I have to assume he has some type of spacer on the rears. Did he also have to raise the truck? If anyone knows Scott and can get him to provide the information on this it would be appreciated.

I too was tired of the dinky tires and switched to the 255's, they offer a better foot print for the front heavey dodge. I had a lifting spacer in the front, so I had no problems with anything hitting. In the rear I do run a 1 1/4" spacer. Trxus, BFG, SUPER SWAMPER,AND BUCKSHOT are a few that I know have bigger tires in the 85 series.

Coyotes extinct

Those sure do look like the same 305/85R16 (36. 4" x 12. 0")Coyotes that I am running on my 2500 - and they look great on his 3500. Unfortunately, Denman stopped making this tire almost a year ago. I talked with one of their VP's and he said they won't be able to make them ever again. He said a capacity issue is why they stopped, but didn't really answer why they couldn't restart production at a later date...



They still make the Buckshot Mudder in that size, but by most accounts it is the noisiest tire ever made. Designed before the age of computers and varying size tread blocks. Good luck in your quest for a similar size and tread - I'm going to miss my Coyotes when they are worn out!

I was interested in the Denman 305/85R16 myself. When I spoke with Denman recently, their explanation for stopping production was that there just wasn't enough demand to make it a reasonably profitable product. Bummer - it would have been the perfect tire for me! But ya can't blame a company for getting out of a product line they couldn't economically justify.

Tires for a stock '01 quad CTD

I have asked this before and am looking for some answers on what will fit under a stock "01 quad 4x4. I have heard some say that they put 315's under them without a problem and this is good as I have possibly a new free set of BFG A/T's from a H2 coming to me. This will mean that I will have to find a 17" rim that fits the truck but I hate looking a gift horse in the mouth since I was considering new wheels for the needed new tires I was going to buy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
