I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 dually that needs tires. I need opinions and experienced replys with the following tires: 235/80/17

Michelin ltx m/s 2

BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO

Bridgestone Duravis M700HD,

Nitto Dura Grappler

I'm running Michelin ltx m/s now and only got 30,000 mi, I have heard the m/s2 have had some sidewall problems? Pulling TT with 1800# TW

Thoughts?

Thanks

Steve

Hi; I am using the Michelin LTX M/S2 tires on my 08 2500HD Mega Cab and I pull a 11K 5er with my truck. These were installed at 41K on the truck and I had two tires replaced under warranty at 57K the outer cover did not bond with the tire and was peeling. This was notice by the tire tech at Discount Tire and was brought to the attention of the manger who said to replace them with new tires. Other then that I have no issues with the tires; I run the tires when pulling the camper at 70 PSI rear and 60 PSI front as per Rams tire placard in the truck. When not pulling the rear tires are 50 PSI and front are still at 60 PSI no TPMS light at 50 psi.
I have had no side wall issues at all and the tires seem to be wearing well and I should get the 70,000 mile wear out of them as advertised. I do rotate them between 5K and 6K miles Discount Tires does this for me and they are rebalance when the tires are rotated.

you might want to describe what type of driving you do... . on road all the time or off road a lot... those tires are for different usage

I just put new Goodyear DuraTracs on my 2011 dually and LOVE them! They are a more agreesive snow/mud tire. Went over to Boise over the weekend and they did great on the ice and snow towing. We also haul a truck camper and they'e done great with that. I was steered to these instead of the BFG All Terrains by several people with trucks that drive over passes on a weekly basis. Look at the Tirerack.com comparison ratings for more info.

They do a very minor mud terrain hum on the highway but its only noticable with the radio and HVAC off.

the only one that is a little more off road is the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO. mostly on road w/occasional light winter driving

Though I am not familiar with the size you want to run, I would choose only between the Dura Grappler and the Michelin.

On all my trucks I run the Michelin m/s2 and get between 150,000 to 180,000 highway miles out of them by keeping them rotated and aired up.

Godspeed,
Trent

I am running the Nitto Dura Grapplers on my 2007. 5 3500. Only have about 10K miles so far but still look new. All the reviews show 60K miles or more. And they cost a lot less than the Michelins.
