I did a search and found little info that I need. The stock Michelin LTX A/S are wearing fast (17k and better than 65% worn) and I want a set of tires that has a more aggressive tread than the highway tread the LTX A/S has. Problem one is, I dont seem to be able to find a large selection of load range E tires in the 265/75/16 size. Rickson is out, I don't have the $$ ($2000 almost, reasonable, but not affordable by me)and I need the tires this week preferably. I had a tire mildy slashed early last year and I finally did in the tire by doing a slide into a ditch. I pulled out in 4x3, since the offending tire was completely flat.

The questions are, what tires fit the size and load, as well as tread design criteria, and where did you get them and what was the price. I looked at TireRack.com, and while the pricing is good, the selection is small due to my tread and load range criteria.

Any ideas?

Don't rule out D load range tires. Check the specs. On some larger tires the D's have a higher capacity than the stock E 245's.

I have the stock 265's with the SPort package, rating per tire is 3415 lbs. I'd like to stay at or above 3000 lbs.

I'll check out those links.

Check out Michlen XPS with the agressive design [they have two tred designs street and mud/snow] VERY tuff tire. . my stock LTX [factory] lasted 20K the XPS lasted 60K of damnn tuff slot car driving in the mountains. . XPS are a commercial rated tire. .

I am using Michelin 235/85/16 XPS Traction tires. Put them on in 92 and now have over 75,000 km on them and they are probably good for another 10,000-15,000. The XPS has a fairly aggressive tread design and they run very well on the highway, given the noise of the diesel engine I can't hear any tire noise. They are not cheap, Costco has about the best price.
Cheers,
Al

Wally World has really good prices on tires around here, and the last time I was shopping for tires they had at least 4 different E-rated tires in stock. Might be worth a look.

BFG has some "E" Tires that look pretty good. I am debating on getting them myself.
