Anybody have suggestion on tires that will last on these trucks? I have 285/75/16 on there now, and no one I have talked with can keep a set of tires on 3/4 ton trucks whether it be Ferd,Cheby or Dodge. Any suggestions would help. I would like an Aggressive tread tire that rides good and lasts, but Im mainly looking for something that will last more than 15K miles.

If your not in the snow belt, try Michelin XPS Ribs 235/85/16 E rated. These are commerical tires and are all steel and recapable. Sams club has them for $158 per tire. If you need more traction go with the Michelin XPS Tractions same size, etc. If you really want one that will last go to the 19. 5 wheels from Rickson with the G or H rated tires. Should get 100K out of them. Steel wheels and tires are in the $2000 range. Hope this helps

tmckenzie -- had 85k on the Michelin LTX A/S (265/75/16E) that came stock on the truck... probably could have gotten another 5-10k on them, but decided I didn't need to be that cheap or to find myself out fixing a flat. Put another set of the same on and they don't show visible wear w/ 12k on them.

I have nothing bad to say about Michelin's. I have the LTX A/S on mine and am not real fond of them but I have 27K on them and no problems. I am going to replace them with Michelin LTX M/S in the stock size.

My Dad got 45K miles out of his Firestone Steeltex AT's. He doesn't drive as aggressivley as I do, but he tows more. F-350 two wheel drive PSD.

One peice of free advice: Make sure you check your air pressure when you get the new tires. The place that did my dad's only put 32 PSI in his tires. Not good for load range "E" tires on a one ton truck.

i had 50K on my michelins on the 01 i sold this past march. they had AT LEAST 20K left in them.

these new Pro comps i bought have a 50K tread wear warranty but i've only got about 10 miles on them. i dnt think they come any smaller than these 305's though. only "D" rated too.

Try Nitto Terra Grappler AT's so far they have been great in all weather! The price was right $124. 00 per tire (265/75-16E). I have not had them for very long but at 3000 miles no wear yet!

I've got BF Goodrich TA Radials that have ~23K miles, with another possible 15K to go. I rotate every 5K. I've been real happy with them.

I have Cooper Discover AT's load range E's on mine and they suck! I have only 20k on them and they are gone, no siping or anything left. They have a 50k warr. I rotate every 5k with oil changes and they wore absolutely flat across the top. I will be going with the same tires that Alyeska Pipeline trucks go with which are Bridgestones. They are one tough tire to last on the haul road.

I run Michelin LTX M/S Load range E 265/75/16s and love them. They will always wear 85000 to 90000 miles with proper inflation and rotation. And you can buy them at Sam's. And they don't make any noise. Oo.

I have Bf Goodrich allterrains 295/75/16's and they have 26,000 on them and they still look good. I've had them go 100,000 on my 1/2 ton so I don't see any reason for them not to make it to 50,000. I do rotate them every 5000-6000 miles.

The Rickson 19. 5" 225/70R setup with wheels & Yokohama TY303 rubber has proven an EXCELLENT choice. You can even fit a complete spare under the bed in the stock factory spare location, with the LWB extended (60gals) fueltank from Aerotanks.

That's the only bad thing with the Michelin's is they are not available in the bigger 285, 295, and 305 sizes. I would have went with a 295 if they made it. I do a lot of highway driving and would have liked the taller tire to help mileage over 70 mph. Anytime I get over 2000 rpm I start losing a little fuel mileage.

Sorry to hear about the Tires

:D I have 235/85/16 M/S Cooper Discoveries on my Dodge dually and have not had one complaint, excellent traction on any surface. I especially love the Siping action the have, great on the Ice.
