Late last year there was a few of you that were working on the High idle circuitry for cold mornings and i was wondering what the outcome was. I am currently using the standard issue extendable windshield scraper at full extension, and the seat jacked way out of shape... ... . I guess i am tired of my wife snickering at me every morning as she gets into her Durango that resides in the garage... (#@%$#) I would like to do this as inexpensive as possible for i dont want to depleat the transmission fund!!! Any help?

Do you run this high idler? Just wondering how good it works and if there are any mods for the install... . Thanks for the Website

I used an AC High Idle solenoid of a GM car. $30, it's adjustable for setup (but not while running), and works well. The only bad part is it doesn't have enough oomph to move the throttle lever on it's own, so you have to tap the throttle to engage it. What this means, is if you have a remote start, you can't just use the trunk release button to activate it. You have to go out there and engage it, or put it in high idle when you leave the vehicle, and start it up in high idle in the morning.

Can you plug it in at night? On cold nights I've thrown my window sun-screen over the engine and plugged in the heater. The whole engine compartment was toasty warm in the morning and start-up was a breeze.

On the subject of Idle... If i let my truk sit and idle for 10 minutes or so it likes to rev up a few rpms then comes back down and does it a little bit. Is this a problem or normal thing in the motor, Or is my truck posessed by a previous owner :--) (fuel psi gauge stays constant when this happens and I just replaced the lift pump not too long ago. . couple weeks maybe)

One day while it was running in the barn I walked infront of the truck inbetween the back wall and it started to rev  I wasnt quite sure if I had picked up a "vertically challenged person" that had snuck into my truck and was now tring to kill me OR its just a tempermental ol' girl?

Mike, I do plug it in and it starts up perfect but i have a 2 year old and like to let it warm up a bit before i strap him in... . I think i'll stick to windshield scraper and save the cash for the trans..... thanks... ... ..... and Icoleman----- They say that if you sacrifice a two legged bull frog on the second thursday of the 11th month it will take care of that problem... ... . oh yea, it has to be a full moon as well! lol Thanks Guys!

I have a remote starter on my o1 and it works great. I just wake up and hit the button. It runs for a half hour and then shuts off unless i beat it and leave first. Nice and warm.

The 24 valve has a high idle feature that your dealer can enable. I don't recall the specifics but when it hits a certain temperature and the truck is not plugged in the engine ramps up to 1200 RPM and stays there untill you touch the brake or put it in gear or it reaches a certain temp or something like that. Also when it's real cold and not plugged in, it will shut off three cylinders to warm it up faster. I had mine enabled (dealership did it for $10. 00) and it works great. (I always try to plug it in though).

C4, I ran the PS High Idler on my 00 for over 180K mi. , and no problems, worked great!! If and when he makes one for the 03, I will get one!!

Another great item he makes is the Alternator and Batt. saver, with it, once the coolant temps reaches 140*, your grid heaters won't cycle till it gets below 140*.

TM,

When they enabled, they did not have to update the ecm did they? I am still running the original parameters... .

Yogi,
