A diesel in a Grand Cherakee Jeep

Ford's mighty new 6.0 Powerstroke

I love what Bully Dog is doing. Yesterday they took a Duramax to 455(?) hp. This is just the boost we need in the diesel industry. I know for a fact that the more we can show the Chevy guys that they have a hot rod diesel, the more folks think about getting one. That means more money to our supporters and it means that the big three will have more pull when it comes to keeping diesel engines in pickup trucks. Numbers and money talk.

Now Eric, that ^^^ would require removing blinders and using some common sense. I am with you on this, but most here are not.

Towing that little Bobcat loader around on that tiny trailer didn't impress me enough to make me wanna go out, buy a powerstroke, and install $3000 worth of parts. They could of found something a little more formidable to tow at least.

Heck, a stock F-150 could do that! :D

Yea, Banks was a sales pitch. Bully Dog's was well produced and well written. Good Job Michael Klassen!

I've worked on that same red Banks truck... Good power to weight ratio, because its a 2WD shorty. Let's just say that ALL the aftermarket wiring on it was less than good.

Can you image what would happen if(when) this diesel thing gets popular? We will hve so many people bringing experance to the tabe it's not even funny. We will grow by leaps and bounds.

Why are some so opposed to Diesel and only open to Cummins?

Just my opinion here, but. I paid to be a member of a DCTD registry, if I wanted to sort through remarks made by well meaning owners of other vehicles I could probably surf the free sites for information I need.

I like my truck and enjoy hanging with like minded, regardless whether they have blinders to other brands.

I do agree that the general public is ignorant of diesel performance, let them become informed of the other brands somewhere else.

So you like hanging out with any diesel, but only want to hear about the Cummins? That is not the issue, the issue is why some will praise their Cummins, and then blast ANY other diesel on the road because it is not their choice brand.

What blows my mind is how at some of the local races/events, the brands segregate. Are we not all there for a common purpose? This past year we had a Texas Rally, and both the Fords and Dodges were within a week of each other. Why can we not just pull together and hold one HUGE event? I think that would be the most fun of all. We could talk to our own kind, and have friends of both races(brands).

I give a thubs up to ANY diesel that passes by me, not just the other Dodges.

Maybe I'm just a little too friendly. :D

I agree with TDK. I have driven all of the Big 3 diesels in a strenuous everyday setting, and they have all performed well in situations that comparable gas-driven trucks simply could not excel in for whatever reason. I tend to be drawn to anything mechanical, and more so to anything under diesel power. Lastly, the reason that I am a member on this site is mostly attributed to the fact that I own one of these fine engines, and wanted to learn more about them. It's all gone downhill from there.

Jantilj: this forum is titled "General Diesel" which implies, to me anyway, topics on anything that runs under diesel power, be it a different truck brand, a locomotive, or a generator. And yes, the majority of the general public is ignorant of diesels. If you care to read more of my thoughts on this, refer to this thread that I started the other day.

Brand diesel over brand Dodge. Right on.

Okay guys:

I saw Bully Dog's advertisement on the banner at the top of our web screen here, I thought it said that on April 5 and 6, they were going to be hopping up a Duramax, did they? I watched it yesterday (April 6) and they were putting a Banks kit on a powerstroke.

I also like braggin rights a little but in my instance I'm getting razzed on pretty hard. Since my cam is broke and other diesels are still running the powerstroke guys are picking at me a little, which is okay because they have to feel good sometimes too:D As to the Duramax owners, You guys have good trucks, seems that the fuel mileage wasn't as expected though.

I've got a buddy with a 4 door long bed powerstroke, automatic by the way. They are pretty doggy, almost as bad as mine was stock, he installed the Banks Powerpack and was very happy with it. I haven't gotten to ride in it but they say it runs good. There are many different vendors out there and some manufacture parts for some people while others choose a different approach/route. I wouldn't flame any of them because I haven't used all of their products.

You caught the wrong show this weekend, on the other one they DID the duramax, they put did propane, nos, box, gauges, and something else, and made 445.

We have Power Strokes at the shop here that are running LOW 13's. One of them was a FULL WEIGHT F350 crewcab/longbed. We are talking abuot a HEAVY truck. The fords I know of (not stock ones) run like a raped ape!

Did anyone notice what the truck did STOCK???

Oo.

The flowerbox made 194 horsies and 392 torque... . Where's all that maxipad power?????????

Okay, maybe I read something into the thread that wasn't.

I thought the comments were drifting toward the TDR (in general) being biased.

And Yes, the "General Diesel" topic does apply here.

::Yawn::

I wish these people would do more BOMBing on TV, and not just Banks stuff... . if Piers would get recognized, as well as ATS, and all the other essential companies who do not have the big name and $$ banks does, I think there would be more BOMB'd trucks on the road! If we could all pull together and have all brands for one, and that being BRAND DIESEL, we could have more fun! I would love to have meetings with the PSD guys, and the Chevy guys... we could all take rides in each others trucks and see how they stack up to our own, and see what BOMBing we need to continue with!
