Just a heads up,

If you or the companies that you work for have any Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks that will require repairs in the near future you better be ordering spare parts right now.

Many vendors that make the components in Japan were wiped out so when the PDC in Bridgeport, NJ. runs out of something it could take a while to replenish supplies.

We are experiencing issues with a popular turbo right now for example, and have been warned that the situation will get worse quickly.

These are a very proprietary vehicle so the aftermarket has very little to offer in the way of replacement parts.

I'm just sayin... ... ... ... ;)

I had a '96 FE HD when I had my rental business. Bought it used in 2002 from an insulation company. What a great truck. Once you have one of these, you won't be buying any more Fords. The only thing that was a little scary is that once in a while the "pre-stroke" light on the dash would illuminate, but the truck ran OK. As best as I could determine, it refers to a function in the injection pump that rotates the injector barrels to control the timing. If it goes bad, you're looking at about $4K for a pump. It was good on fuel, had "adequate" power, and would start instantly at 0* F. That powerplant and trans would make a great repower project for a mid-sized PU.
