After you asked whether my truck came with the plastic fender liners I had to go out and look and the answer is no. I cannot see why this simple part is no longer on this truck. I can only imagine what a mess it is going to get back under those rear wheels. When I brought my new truck home I was worried about how my wife would adopt to the noise of the diesel but she said it did not bother her so I was relieved, but as we drove along she suddenly yelled out bring this truck back as she discovered there was no grab handle above the passenger door anymore. She really misses that handle. This is my first diesel as I traded in my 1999 2500 4wd with the 360 v8. That truck had the sport package and this one does not. Does anyone know whether that was part of the sport package? Another thing that I noticed after I purchased truck is that it has no tape player just the CD. I guess tapes are outdated anyway. Tomorrow I will put the ram to work, I will hook it up to my car trailer with my 62 Pontiac Catalina on it and go to the drags at Englishtown. I know the Ram will do fine but it will be the first runs for the old Poncho which I am hoping to run in the high twelves. Till the next time God Bless the USA...

Hey, HotRod, there was a thread about this loss a while ago. The handle wasn't part of the sport package; I have one on my non-sport '99. It's just a part of the cheapening up of the line. You and your Friendly Mopar Parts Guy are gonna get well acquainted, especially when you buy the parts to add the missing handle for the Mrs. The 4X2's didn't come with the rear liners in '99, but my local FMPG was happy to sell some to me. BTW, I think the handle can be added to the driver's side as well. Search the archives for this.

Is that one of the lightweight Catalinas?
