To Leather or Not To Leather?

JRG, there were two reasons I didn't elect to order leather on my '98. 5 Sport... 1) my (then) 3 year old daughter and leather didn't seem like a real good match (however, in retrospect, it would have worked out just fine... she's extremely well behaved) and 2) the "other" leather color was Mist Gray NOT Agate (until '99) #ad
I have a friend with the Mist Gray leather interior in his '98 12v Ram... it's TOO light for me (then again, anything other than a BLACK Sport is settling for less in my not so humble opinion #ad
) If I was to order a new Ram tomorrow it WOULD have the Agate leather interior. Period!

What's the difference between the SLT+ leather seats and the leather package added on to the SLT?

JRG I got the leather in my 98. It was a matter of economics. I wanted the overhead console, and I had to have the power seats, so those two options made the leather package only a few hundred bucks more, and with it I got a woodgrain dash trim!! I'm glad I got it.
The dealer was trying to talk me into having a local shop do the leather for me. I have to tell you, he did the WHOLE seat in leather, and would have done the whole back seat like that too. I forget the price, but I was tempted.
Before I ordered mine, I was looking at some 97's. I felt the colored dots on the velour was too psycadelic (sp?) for me, I would have gotten the leather for this alone.

I climbed all over many trucks before factory ordering, and this is what I believe is the answer to your question.

The SLT+ hide is of higher quality... . thicker, more supple,and just feels higher quality..... than the other package, and it has a Ram logo at the top of the back of the seat.

Remember, the seating areas are the only place where leather is used. All other surfaces are vinyl.

Heated seats weren't availible when I got my '95s. Are the the heated seats only availible in leather?

A dealer told me that I could order a SLT+ minus leather? If all of the seats arent leather than I may be better off doing that and then adding leather local. Except there would be no way of getting duel power/heat?

I have heard more than once of a SLT++ what might this be???

I do own a Lexus LS 400 and did have a problem with one of the heater grids,(no cost to me) and my freinds grand cherokee has his whole drivers seat out, any problems w/the Ram?? #ad

the heated leather seats rule when its near zero , after about 5 mins they are nice and toasty , sometimes a bit to toasty , but its nice on the back after a few hours of cleaning out the driveway ... #ad
