I have the TST #6 plate and Boost elbow.
I Can peg my 30 psi boost gauge, Is that normal for this plate and elbow?
I do not blow very much smoke, only when I'm running down the road with the TC locked and I nail it then a little puff of smoke comes out. Is that normal?
Just want your all opinion
Thanks
Adam

BYI, the elbow is set to allow 30psi. What you have is normal, and in no way is harmful.

I have a #5 plate and get 32-34# but the other day I saw 37#. Is this a problem?

Once you get over about 35# boost there is no gain, your EGTs will rise to the point where the extra power isn't usable.

I had another question to add. My air filter is not very dirty (k&n). Every time that i get into my throttle showing off, or just making alot of noise leaving the stop light, my air filter indicator is pulled down where all the yellow is showing.
Is this normal, what can i do to allow more air to keep this from happining.
thanks

Adam, you should be ok if the filter minder isn't moving more than half way up. Mine never moves at all with a K&N,so I have to wonder. Guess I shouldn't say never, one time my minder went all the way up and I lost power after mice built a nest in the airbox with the insulation from the hood,¼" screen pop-riveted over the inlet fixed that. Try removing the horn from in-between the airbox and the fender wall and see if that helps,it should.

BigYellow, your readings sound normal. Max boost I've seen is 32#. My filter minder doesn't move much either - properly oiled & sealed K&N and some extra holes in the airbox (screened off, of course).

Just put in my Autometer 60# boost gauge and with the Auto Wurks Diesel calibrated stock plate and A. W. D. Injection Pump work, I make a very usable 58 psi. boost. EGTs hit the 1500 range, but it's how long you hold it there that counts. Been doing it this way for the last 75000 miles and when we took the head off to lower the compression, the pistons and honing on the cylinder walls were as fresh as day one. It's just fine for playing with Corvettes and for a blast down the quarter mile. For towing, however, even in stock trim I would (for the sake of not breaking things) not go over 20-25 psi.
