Take note:

If your truck has the OEM air intake hose from the filter box to that turbo thinggy there... ... ... ...

I have noticed that this hose (that big, black, ugly looking thing) split open @ the turbo end just back from the clamp. Probably due to flex of said ugly hose assy.

Ive had two of these and both had split nearly through. That can't be good. Buy new or replace it with an upgraded unit.

Lookn' out for my fellows.

Big Ugly Black Thing

As soon as I get the pictures back I will post the ones of my custom intake hose. I cut out the big ugly corrugated rubber piece and used a 4" to 5" stainless tail pipe tip. I'm sure it cut down on the restriction/turbulence that the corrugated rubber created. The pipe no longer sags in the middle, but it is now stiffer than the original.

yes tim you need to get pictures for everybody else to see very nice work.

I just found today that the intercooler piping, where it joins the air intake side of the motor, was RUSTED. I had to cut off about 3/4" of the pipe and then sand blast it. I never would have thought it would rust in there.

Checked down inside the air passage to the motor, there were rust flakes on the grid heater and small pieces laying in the passage way.

Yup,

My new truck had that very thing happen. Thankfully, I had my fabbed/ afro engineered hose from the Non-ic to PDR HX35 upgrade to put in there. Not pretty, but at least functional. I dont really like the price of an ASA getup, so I may figure something out. Or just get a new one from a Dodge parts online "wholesale" outlet for $70 or so.

Okay I uploaded the pictures of my "Custom" intake hose, check them out in my gallery. The SS exhaust tip came from eBay, it is a 4" to 5" straight cut tip. The 4" fits in the turbo end pretty easily but the 5" end has to be shrunk down to about 4. 75". I used a cut off wheel & put around 10 slices in it about 1/8 to 3/16 in. wide by 1" long, then used a couple of water hose clamps to collapse it till it would fit inside of the air box end then beat it in. I also heated up the ends as to allow for some stretch. It was a piece of cake. :D
