I want stacks just like Rob's

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/user_gallery/displayimage.php?&photoid=1407&width=4

but my wife says I am crazy and I can have any bomb I want but NO STACKS:{ :{ :{

I am trying to prove to her that they do serve a purpose

1) to get the exhaust up and over the 5er while towing

2 )so I can see that my exhaust aint pluged

3) so the exhaust wont blow on her leg when she walks by

4) so I can visualy analize the performance of my Cummins

5) so the noise goes up instead of out , this feature is for the spectators in respect for their ear drums.

help me prove that I need stacks fellas help help help help:{ :{ :{

Ya ain't gona like it, but I say go for the "GO BOMBs" over the "SHOW BOMBs. "

(but that's just my opinion)

I'm going for number 5 for my justification... putting on the twist of "It puts the exit point of the exhaust above the cab, thereby lowering the noise level in the cab". ;)

I'll add #6... bigger pipe=lower EGTs=longer life

or

bigger pipe= better MPG

or

two stacks have got to better for the engine than just one tailpipe:D

I like all the reasons listed above, except Bighammer's(ya gotta have a good combination between show and go. :D ) The "safety" features, performance gains, and noise factors, are vaid points, :rolleyes: I installed 'em just because they look sweet. :D Besides Whitmore, who wears the britches in you house. :p Yet another reason I'm not married. :D

Good luck, Rob

The dump-bed was first, then I figured out a way to make the stacks work. If you click on my links in the above post, then click on "other albums" then click on "odd pics", you 'll see how I made it work.

Later, Rob

This may or may not help but here goes:

1. Don't know about towing a 5er but unless I'm going slow, like less than 30 the wind over the cab takes the exhaust right down over the tail gate. However, it does send it into the sky leaving from light - which happens to be when most smoke occurs.

2. Plugged exhaust - hmmm that's a stretch as it would take a bushel of potatoes or a supermarkets entire supply of bananas to accomplish that :D

3. That's a pretty good one, but wait until soot blows on her from the top down from your stacks ;)

4. Hmmm - who knows, maybe she'll bite?

5. Noise - mines a heck of a lot louder with stacks and I left my Walker muffler on like it was before. Personally, I really like the way it sounds - deep, mellow just cruising but will really talk when pushed hard.

6. My favorites - it's really really easy to find in the parking lot and it's bait for the Powerjoke and Duralax types :D

good responces

Besides Whitmore, who wears the britches in you house. Yet another reason I'm not married.
:eek: :eek: :eek:

good one!!! but we both wear the britches in my house and evan better yet I like to keep on her good side so I can get into her britches from time to time:D :cool: :D

If you want smoke

Try pooring a couple quarts of oil down the stacks. :eek: I seen a guy do this to his buddies flatbed the other day and what a sight it was. :(

I would have beat the crap out of the guy but that's just me. :)

Her Idea

When I first said I was putting stacks on my wife said NO WAY are you putting stacks on that new truck :{

So I put them on and did not hook them up the first day then she said they look OK :eek: The second day I hooked them up and now she tells everyone it was HER IDEA to put the stacks on Oo.
