I too was up in the air about the tow prep. Could not find an adaptor to fit my pull rite, and no help from the factory. Went with the companion and very impressed . Bought it from Tweetys , com $1159 delivered to the door. Put it in and never looked back. When I bought it on 5 29 they had 15 in stock.. 25 K
I like that TC but I was thinking of a pic that has something more in my price range like a granite/silver two tone Cummins I've only been able to see that color combo once and I was going about 77MPH.
Here's the older style Pullrite 3300 adapted to a 2014 2500 without the Tow Prep Group
That's a set of Curt Standard Rails mounted to the bed, a set of Pullrite 4409 adapter rails on top and the 3300 hitch. Note that the pin location is exactly where it's supposed to be - over the axle - but the hitch itself hangs over the bak of the rear standard rail. It looks a little odd to me, but Nick at Pullrite said it's exactly as it's supposed to be. The weight of the trailer is really only behind the rear rail if the trailer is about 80 degrees to the truck and the hitch is slid all the way back. At that angle, I'm either going about 2 miles per hour, or jackknifed at 70!
The whole setup is about 2 inches higher than my old truck/hitch combo which is causing me something of an issue with the trailer being level. Gotta work that problem next.
