That is the question (apologies to Shakesphere). When is the NAIAS? I want to see what the new Rams look like so I can make a decision about trading for an ETH/DEE vs. hanging on to my 98. 5 for a few more years and then upgrading. If I'm going to have this one for a while longer, then the mods will start post haste.

Go to the pickuptrucks.com web site they have some pics of the 2002 Ram ? But I think the new t-diesel Ram won't be out till '03.

Joel, this is a question we all ask ourselves alot. There will be some good changes on the new trucks in the coming years as well as some not so good things. Your truck doesn't have a catalytic converter on it so thats good, the new trucks in a year or two will, along with traps for soot and an EGR valve so a new truck now "MIGHT be the thing to do. I know that ttruck that I just got rid of was one of the best I ever had,(99 3500 4X4 auto 3:55 loaded good) but I traded it for a 01. 5 3500 that I sat down and spec'd out myself with the dealers book and ordered every option the book had. I also ordered the ETH\DEE and thought that I may be to old and to spoiled with the auto to go back to a stick but I can tell you since October when the truck arrived its been a blast driving. By the time I was two blocks from the dealers the 6spd felt great and I hadn't lost my touch for shifting gears even though it had been 15 years since I'd own a stick.
There will be changes to the look of the new trucks in the next few years so do like Andrew said and go look, I personnally am glad I made the change. Regards Pete

01. 5 Loooaded up!!!!!

I too have been waiting for a good change in the truck, ever since I bought a new 95. And, with respect to those who own 24valve trucks, I am still waiting for a change to *improve* the truck. Perhaps in the next generation Dodge will give us bigger brakes, a decent gearbox and more gearing choices, and GVW choices as well. And, perhaps Cummins will catch-up with european maufacturers (like Alfa Romeo) and give us a motor with common rail injection, variable turbo vane technology and MORE power with BETTER mileage. Until I see it, I'll keep what I have.

Have to remember, one good thing about keeping the old one and bombing. . NO MESSING WITH THE DEALER for service!

DC lurkers, go ahead and read the sig and the location, I have 107,000 miles and warranty is just a faint memory #ad
