Yes this is my question.

I just did a search on the transgo shift kit but I get so many opinions.

3 questions:

1. Is there anyone who has a transgo shift kit in his 24V 47RE?

2. Do you have to take the trans out or just the valve body?

3. What about adjusting the shift points? I thought that with the RE types the ecm is controlling the shift points.

Thanks,

Raf

I did a friends 92 Dodge diesel non lockup trans with one, just the valve body to remove. The body seperator plate and some valve springs changed. I think for more clutch pressure. I believe the 47RE is controlled by the computer (PCM) for lockup and overdrive, the rest is still mechanical. The PCM does watch pressure, though.

Did the transgo kit 30k ago. Works great. Just remove the valve body. Have to split the body and modify a couple valves and change some springs. You can adust your upshift time and can put more lockup pressure on you converter.

C4gen,

Where does your transmission shifts, I don't want to take the vb out again to make adjustments.

What I like with stock is that you can shift with the right foot. A lot of throttle is high rpm upshift and a little throtttle is lower rpm upshift. Does this change?
