Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) To twin, or not to twin

I am thinking about possibly twining the truck this coming year but have a few questions. The last time i had my trucking runing which was about 2 months ago i was generating about 65-70lbs of boost with the single b1. I am lowering the compression a good bit and going with a good cam from eep so i have to see what the new motor can do after i get it in this weekend. What kind of benefits would i see with going to a b1-b2 combo as twins. From what i understand the lag is not reduced any. What kind of benefits if any would the twins provide if i would waste gate the turbos for like 65 or 70? Even if the boost pressure stays the same will my intake temps decrease and what kind of horsepower would that generate if they are decreased?

Some benefits you will see is a stronger top end and also a reduce in EGTs. Since you have a bigger turbo, the efficiency range is higher. Say if you were making 50 lbs of boost with a hx35 snd then you were making 50 lbs of boost with a b1. You already know which one is going to give you an improvement.

B-1 will have more lag, B-1/ B-2 combo will be expensive as you have to have an external wastegate, air temp will come way down as your spinning that B-1 to the moon which will make the power come up and the drive pressure go way down. I'm surprised you didn't pop a head gasket as drive pressure is as bad as boost! Don't talk to us about B combo's talk to Ken Dias that puts all the B series turbo's out 602-272-5311 Arizona time, my opinion is the Big Brother as the second one... ... just love this turbo!

Matt, when i went from the b1 to PDR twins I picked up close to 100 hp on diesel only,and dropped close to 500 degrees EGTSs,boost only went up 12psi. Im sure you have more fuel than me so your gains would be even higher. I have had trouble keep the head on the truck since I went twins. Your going to need a fire ring/head studd at the minimum to keep it together.

LOL at you Jim! I think it was the N2O squeeze that did me in the first time,lol. BTW i dont plow on 5x5! Thered be so much smoke the FD would show up. I being very easy on the truck til spring(at least im trying),we got another storm on the way.
