I have noticed several people who have installed a twin setup have recently put them up for sale and went back to a single hybrid. How are twins for normall extended high mileage applications. Are they reliable enough or is there some unforseen problems the make twins less deirable for high mileage use. I have a setup ready to install and for some reason I am getting cold feet. I do not want to go to the trouble to reduce high reliability service just for fun. Does anyone know what minium ID for the oil supply line for an HT3b should b? I purchased a set the are 1/8" SS flex tubine with the appropriate fiittings. Thanks for the input!!!

The only twin owners I know that have sold thiers was to build/buy a bigger set (myself included). Anytime you have more parts reliability is sacrificed but you'd have to pry mine from my cold dead hands (my gun too) to get them away from me.

I'm not sure that you would sacrifice the reliability with going with a set of twins. I have seen people that would tear up a solid block of steal but other that can make things last and last. I think it all depends on how you treat your rig.

Currently I am running a single turbo and with plans to go to a set of PDR Towing twins in the future. Do I think that the reliability will drop. . no . . becuase I dont push my truck to the limit.

When I am towing. . I do push it pretty hard but that is about the only time that I do. Other than that is drove easy. .

You go and put twins on it. Why? Because I can't.

Since I can't, you go and steal all my fun, spend all the money to do it, get all the approving high fives and gawks, while I sulk in my beer at home with my single.

Just do it.

I love my PDR twins, and they havent given me any trouble, but if i had it to do over,id have stayed with the B1 large housing turbo. Several reasons, mostly the head gasket/blow by issues that result from the hi boost. IMO these engines were just noty designed for this much boost pressure, and they will live, but it can be a lot of work keeping them together. Also the performance twins do not light as fast as a large housing big single IMO,the B1 lit easier and faster than the twins im running. Cost and space are the other reasons, the cost is 1/3 for a single ,and the space is tight with twins. Dont get me wrong the performance is awesome with these turbos, its just not worth the trouble for me overall.

I've had my twins for 22 months so far. It gets driven daily and I've not had any problems with the turbos. I did have to monkey around with the boots as they kept blowing off for a while. But since I started using hair spray on them, they haven't come off in about 6 months. I've had a stock head gasket and have limited the boost to 55 psi. I'm getting an o-ringed head next week and bigger injectors as the 525 HP is getting a little tame after nearly 2 years  Botom line - there's no looking back for me. :D

I've had my PDR Towing Twins for just over a month now,had a few "Bugs" to work out,but I wouldn't go back. Had my head freshend and o-ringed. Haven't seen boost go above 55psi. I run front and side breather tubes. Driven daily and used for hauling business weekly. You'll like it,Do It. My advice, look at what your "Really" going to do with your truck,Tow, Pull,Race etc..... And decide, then stick too it. Oh ya,for towing, stay conservative on injector size. Dave

Twins are great. The only down fall I have seen is that I cant sled pull just anywhere, but I want to hook a couple of times a year. I wish I had gone straight to twins.

Love my twins. I had a HX40/16 for a couple years, a B1B for a while, but these twins are awsome. Lots of low end torque, way more power all through the power band than any of my singles, minimal smoke, stock-like spool up, low egts, and better fuel mileage.

Towing 21k gross up a 5% grade in 6th gear @ 1625 rpms was pulling 40psi boost and running about 1100 egt. I usually pull in 5th but wanted to see what the twins would do on the low end.
