LT Sport Cover

I plan to purchase an LT Sport Cover. It is an aluminum hard tonneau cover that looks SWEET. Painted to match vehicle and from 50 ft can't even tell it is on. It is only 65-68 lbs. and from an aerodynamics standpoint better than an open box or full topper lick my last truck.



I have not gotten my 04 yet, so --- Has anyone else used LT Sport cover? I would like some user feedback before I order it.

This thread is a perfect example of why I was so confused on what to purchase. After much thought, I went ahead today and purchased the Mopar premium fabric cover -- looks like the same material as on most covertible tops. The cover will be here tomorrow and I'll install it asap. I'll update ya'll on my impressions.

I hope you like it, I sure like mine. Not much to putting it together. Assemble the rails, square it up on the bed, clamp it, put in the bows, secure the cover and you are off to the races.

Hmm... . I'm wondering why this thread says "moved" when I know I posted it on the 3G (no engine/transmission) section in the first place. Did I do something wrong??

Because it's about a toneau cover that isn't specific to the 3rd gen. You'll get more input on it by having it someplace where 2nd gen and 1st gen owners will see it.

Tonneau covers

You might check on the Pace- my dealer sold me a Roll n Lock, and he showed me some real differences in the quality. Roll n Lock was first rate, except that it kept coming out of alignment and eventually got some discoloration on the vinyl cover on top. It kept the bed very dry and secure.



On my 3G i went with the Peragon. About half the price of the Roll n lock, and keeps the bed very secure, albeit not as dry. I put in an electric tailgate lock that ties in with the door locks, so now the bed can open without moving the cover back- a problem for hte Roll n lock. The Roll n Lock locks to the tailgate, so you have to open it before you can let the gate down. My weather cover broke off, and once the thing froze shut, keeping me out of the bed altogether! Peragon is easy to remove completely, do you don't lose the 6 inches in the front that Pace edwards and roll n lock take up.

I have one on my second gen made By Tek Sport. Its a very nice piece and has been very rugged and handled all the snow that we have had piling on it with no sag or damages. I'll see if I can find a shot for you to see it... ... ... Andy

I also have a Tek Style. Keeps the bed dry & holds lots of snow but it's a nightmare to put back on if it's cold outside. If I were to do it all over again, I'd probably look at a Pace Edwards or similar product as I now don't use the bed as much as I would.

I had a tek style before I got the lite rider - the difference is like night and day. The lite rider is at least 10x better. With the tek style if I took it off in the winter it couldn't go back on until spring, you have to stow the bows and rear rail somewhere when it's off, and it takes a while to undo and redo all those snaps. With the lite rider you pull a lever to release the rear and then roll it up and once it's rolled all the way up you clip the built in straps to keep it there. To set it back up you just unroll it and push down on the back - literally a 10 second operation, no bs. After having this toneau I wouldn't even consider one that didn't have a mechanism like this. Like I said before I think the truxedo has the same type of mechanism.

Yes, the stake pockets and top rails are completely open. The rails for the toneau fit inside the bed rails. Surgery is in 37 hours 5 minutes, but who's counting? Sitting here on an ice pack right now trying to ignore the pain.
