How much boost is too much for the stock turbo and headgasket? After installing the #11 and boost elbow I can see about 36 psi of boost. Is this too much?

I will be sliding the #11 all the way forward tomorrow. I set it at the factory position at first just to get a baseline, and it feels slightly more powerful than the stock plate full forward. That will all change tomorrow though. Oo. :D

Thanks for the reply. I kinda thought that I was at or getting close to too much. I guess I just need a bigger turbo. :D

Slide the plate. If the clutch slips... . get a southbend Con OFE:D

The stock HX-35 is a stout turbo and is capable of 40+ psi. It isn't very efficient at that pressure and does generate a lot of heat but it will hold it. Wait on a bigger turbo until you have the fuel for it. Save your money, those clutches ain't cheap:eek:

You are fine at your current boost level. I know many guys who spin those -35's to 45+ psi. Get some 370's, some delivery valves, more timing, THEN worry about that turbo;)
