Is this too much power for a stock 3 speed transmission with 125,000 miles:pump adjustments, old smokey fuel pin, pod's, and gov. spring?

Its too much power for a stock later model 4 speed, if you use it all.

A lot will depend on use and how you drive it. You will also soon find out just how sloppy a stock converter is and lament that. Normal use and an occassional blast to get rid of the cob webs and you should be fine.

If you want to hotrod, smoke rice burners, and tow ,thats another story. :D :D

I've been running mine that way for several years now, without a problem from the three speed... well, except breaking the flex plate, but dad did that once before when the truck was totally stock and under warranty. The truck runs great with the mods, but as cerberusiam said, you'll really feel the weak link, the torque converter. I tow with mine on occasion; race car, trailer, tires, tools, gas cans, etc. , etc. I never have had a trans problem, and I worry about overheating it much more than I ever worry about trans failure.

Hope this helps.

Jim
