Help!! Too Much Smoke from the Blow by Bottle!

After installing my helper lift pump I noticed what seems like way too much smoke coming out of the blow by bottle. During the helper lift pump installation I somehow managed to disconnect a vacuum line from somewhere in the engine compartment and couldn't find where to reconnect it. Now my climate control venting doesn’t work. Could these two problems both be related to the vacuum line? I know the climate control venting problem is due to the vacuum line but I don’t know about the excessive smoke from the blow by bottle  . Is there maybe a crank case re-circulation valve that may be bad? Or maybe that vacuum line controls a re-circ valve also. I wish I could find where that vacuum line plugged into:mad:  Maybe one of you guys could go out and look under the hood and trace the line. It’s the 1/8” line coming of the power steering pump. I have an 01 - 6 speed ETH. Thanks

I just went out and looked at mine, the smallest line I see near the P/S pump is 1/4in. and it comes out of the vacuum pump right in front of the P/S pump. If this is the one you are talking about then mine goes up to the wiring harness running across the top of the engine compartment and goes to the passenger side of the truck.

Hope this helps

Ooops

My mistake  The line I'm talking about starts from what looks like a vacuum diaphragm under the battery box on the driver’s side. And It's defiantly 1/8 "

If you have cruise control, it may go onto the control unit located under the drivers side battery box. And of course any vacuum leak, like a hose being disconected, can make other vacuum operated equipment inop. Can't say for sure. But this is my best guess.

Your Truck

Hey x-ring, would you mind taking a look at your truck and telling me where the He!! that vacuum line goes:{ :{ :{ . I would by very grateful :) :)

Cliffman I just took a look and my line from under the battery runs up to a vacuum tube right below the hood gasket just left of the master cylinder

My truck in an auto though

Bob

And that thing unde the battery is the speed control servo

Oh, and by the way, just so that all you guys know, when that vacuum line is disconnected there will be an excess amount of smoke coming out of the blow by tube, don't ask me why  . thanks again. :)
