I seem to be getting to much braking in the rear, they will lock up with the slightest pressure on the brake pedal. They do not drag as if they are adjusted up too much. I have replaced rotors, pads, drums and shoes the abs and brake light are on and I'm going to replace the rear abs sensor and see if they go out, not sure if that has anything to do with my braking problem. Backed the rear brakes off and it seemed to help with the rears locking but I know they will self adjust back up again. Bled the brakes last night and there does not seem to be any air in the lines, not sure what to do or check next, any suggestion??? Its very aggravating with so much rear braking. Thanks guys!

There is a valve above the axle ( assuming it's called the proportioning valve) that controls how much pressure goes to the back axle brakes according to how much the back end sits down due to load. I would check to make sure everything looks like it is hooked up and operating.

I think that valve was only on the 97-99 2500s and won't appy to his 3500.

Since the ABS light is on, the system senses a problem with the electronics in the ABS system, and I'd suspect the rear sensor would be a good place to start (since it's the one locking up). Any way you can get the codes read?

It may be weak springs not returning the shoes far enough. The shoes retract just enough not to drag, but not enough to give that even proportioning with the front.
