I am starting to rig out my 04. 5. On my 01,02,03 I used the Westin Nerf bars. Now that I am older and fatter, I need a way to reach up in the bed of my truck and operate my 5th wheel.

Does Westin or some other supplier offer an extended nerf bar that would go back to right in front of the rear wheels and angle out in front of the dually fenders that I could step up on????

Westin

Yup,

I have the Westin wheel to wheel Platinum Series bars that run to the front of the rear wheel arch. It has 3 step cut-outs, 2 for the door openings & 1 to access the bed. They are chromed stainless steel & cost about $440. 00 for the set.

I just bought a step from Autozone. It slips over the tire. I'm almost 300# and it seems very sturdy. I just hope I never forget to remove it!! John

Barry, I know Dee-Zee and a couple others make nerf bars that go all the way back for the SRW trucks but with the way they mount and set under the truck they should work fine on the duallys too.

Barry I suggest you try Stephenville Truck and Trailer just south of the Dodge House on 281.

I put them on my 03 because I am like you and wanted to step up to the bed. I was hit by a small Neon in the side on a gravel road and it did not chip the powder coat (pushed the truck sideways on the gravel) but tore up the front of the Neon. I highly recommend these boards. Only drawback (if at all) is they are welded to the frame.

so old and fat man Barry. . hehe too much eating at the place we went to the first night [forgot the name]... with the great Chicken fried steak

you linked the front page but didn't say what ones you were looking at... the 6000 ?

The place with the Texas size Chicken Fried Steak was Montana's and the model on the nerf bars is 6000... ... ... ... ... ...

Tough Country running boards are sort of wheel to wheel nerf tubes with a running board top welded on. I'm trying to putting together a group purchase on em and will hopefully order this week.
