Truck missing @ idle and low RPMs

Took my '06 in with it's stuttering at about 1500rpm in today. First off, had appointment to get in, still had to wait 45 mins to get to a writer (appt was for 8am, just got home now at 10am), and I also wanted them to enable the high idle feature. I had a tsb on how to enable it (but it was for '04, that was all I could find) The writer first told me they would do it, but it would cost $99. I griped. She went to the svc manager, this guy comes out and tells me that my truck already has all the latest and greatest upgrade and refused to do the job because DC won't pay them for it. :-{} What I would like to know is could someone please give me the TSB# to get this done or what to say?? All I could find is # 18-004-04.

I also wanted to talk to their "diesel tech", but basiclly got the cold shoulder by everyone else, he's way too busy. I told them there's something wrong or I wouldn't be here, and I'll be doing about 4000 miles in a month on vacation and towing my trailer with my family. But me thinks that I'm gonna get it back with a "could not duplicate" note, after I told them EXACTLY on how the problem surfaces. Does anyone know of a GOOD diesel dealer in So Cal? The truck is there now. I have a bad feeling about this "visit"

I don't know how far it is but Bob4x4(a member) works for Fullerton Dodge. P. M. him for information. He's very knowledgable and owns an '05 CTD.

Im goimg to talk to cummins of phoenix today and see if i can get any ansers on ower problems. I think ill even go to power dodge on bell road to see what they have to say.

WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Power Dodge, eh?

That's where my truck is now, but like I said earlier, I ain't happy. I guess they're pretty big.

I talked to a diesel tech on 5/24/2006 he said with me only haveing 2550 miles on it i should drive it some more to get it more broke in. I think its bull$#%! i wasint raised yesterday. I did find out dodge is haveing some problems with the flashing having to lean out the engine to meet epa regulations you no to lean can cause a studder at light throttel maybe thats it? Ill keep digging till i grt to the bottom of this. Just keep looking for the new flash coming to fix this light throttel studder.

Power dodge didnt help mutch. :(

Power Dodge IS A FRIGGING JOKE. They had my truck for 2 days and said they couldn't find I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER. I will say this though, I went on a 100 mile drive today up to Lancaster to look at new 5th wheels (90% freeway), and when I pulled into my garage, it seemed a bit quieter, she just turned 3000 miles today, and 200 miles only used about 1/3 tank of fuel... ... ... Looks like I'll be taking a road trip to Texas at the end of June for 2 weeks, plane tickets are going through the roof now, $420 miles when I can drive for the same $$.

Since you are in SoCal, you might try Victorville Motors. You want to talk to Lela as she is the one that I work with and I have never had a bad experience. Yes, their diesel tech is busy but if you make an appointment, they should be able to stick to your time frame. I would imagine that the tech or the service writer will go for a drive with you if you want so you can demonstrate the problem. Good luck.

Oh, their service department is open until 12am, so if pickup/dropoff is an issue, that may help. I think the diesel guy only works during the day.

Another good place to go would be Moss brothers Dodge in Riverside. I was down there pulling trailers when my 03 started giving me problems with the rear end. They took care of it quickly and were very professional.

Give it a few more miles. Mine ticked like it had a bad rod bearing at 2-5k but by the time it hit 10k, it was fine and the eng continued to get smoother and more quiet till about 15K. Now at 50K it runs like a sewing machine.
