WHY??? doesn't this big truck, as a tool, NOT have a cigarette lighter plug that is hot all the time? to charge tool batteries without having the ACC on ?? silly:p or am i missing something????

I looked up the diagram for a 13 3500 and it shows the power outlets are fused B+ not switched B+. What truck do you have. Give me the last 6 of your VIN and I can look specifically at your truck diagram.

if you look in your manual, there is a fuse (I think it was 91 on mine) that has 2 positions for the fuse, you can make it on with the ignition or on all the time by moving the fuse. The fuse location has 3 holes and the fuse has 2 legs, mine came set up for on with ignition, so the legs were in slots 1 and 2, moving the fuse to slots 2 and 3 makes it on all the time. :)

On my truck, center console USB port is ONLY hot, as long as the starter button is set to ACC, RUN, or with truck engine is running. The dashboard USB port is hot/charges as long as i leave the iPhone with cord connected/plugged in. IF I unplug cord the at the iPhone, then plug it back in it won't charge. I have to unplug the cord from the dashboard side to get it on to charge again.

I have the bench seat, not the console. For mine, the one thats hot all the time is in the fold down middle seat compartment. If I remember correctly, the outlet is identified inthe manual where it talks about the fuse.
