Hey guys give me your opinion on what will look better a black diamond plate tool box with black bed rails or a regular diamond plate tool box with matching bed rails. My truck is all blacked out right now, except for my 5" stainless tip. I'm having a hard time deciding, any pics of others trucks with either set-up would be very helpful.

Thanks

Here's an old pic tires and tip not shown in this one.

On an old truck a while back, I had a real nice black powder-coated McWelco across the bed toolbox, and riveted a cut piece of polished aluminum diamond plate on the lower portion that opened up to the bed. It kept the box looking nice, and matched the rail covers I had. It dressed up a working truck, and it wore well over the years.

I put a low-profile Better Built tool box on my truck not to long ago. It's the shiney diamond plate. I have noticed even though my back glass has the factory dark tint it needs to be darker because of the reflection I get from the tool box. My truck is white and has chrome and black accents. I often wonder if the low-profile black tool box would have looked better at times. I know at least less reflection.

Don't forget to put in the box brackets they list in the owners manual. If you don't, the front corners of the bed can out.

Thanks for the reply's, black is what I was leaning toward I just needed to be reassured. I was a little skeptical because if the box or truck begins to lose it's shine the blacks may be a different shade and not look as good.

Also I had a weatherguard on my 98' and I'll definately get another. Thanks again and keep the replys coming.

I'd go with a Pro-Tech smooth aluminum toolbox sitting on a set of smooth stainless steel bed caps. Then add some stainless rocker panels and it would look sharp. I almost went black for my truck just because chrome/stainless/aluminum contrasts so well with it, but I don't keep my truck real clean.

I also have a Black Ram (03. ) I have stainless bed and tail gate caps with crome wheelwell crome and factory crome wheels, & crome exhaust tip. I get lots of comments on it. I have a fuel and tool box (camping world), when i had the bed sprayed black with line X , I also had the fuel and tool box sprayed with same stuff. Looks sharp and wont rust.

Has anyone ever had a SS/Chrome/Aluminun toolbox or maybe wheels powder coated before. Would it hold or stay stuck, I've never had anything powder coated before.

Tony

I vote for the shiny aluminum diamond plate. I like black, but if you "think" dirt, its dirty! (LOL)

Oh, by the way, you have one sharp looking truck there, I really like that. Probably one of the nicest long boxes I've ever seen!
