I needed to replace my crankshaft position sensor today.
I have read many posts on this site about the difficulty of removing the sensor after the bolt holding sensor in is removed. Many have found that the sensor will rotate in the hole and still not come out. Members have drilled holes in the sensor and installed a screw to pry on.
I dreaded the thought of trying to use the drilling and screw method because of the lack of space to work in. I found that a small prybar that is used for removing finishing nails on small trim or picture frames to be the perfect tool. It is about five inches long, has a ninety dregree on one end and flat on the other. It looks similiar to a brake adjusting tool. The ends are tapered which was perfect to work in around the edge of the sensor. The ninety degree end works best. The sensor would not pull out. After four trys with the small prybar it popped out without any damage.
Hope this helps someone
