I have a question regarding a tool I am trying to find. On the band adjustments for our 518 automatic transmissions, I need to find out where I can get a 3/8 drive socket that will fit the odd shaped band adjuster. I have used a 6 mm open end wrench in the past, but could only guess how much torque I was applying. I need a socket so I can use an Inch-Pound torque wrench. Is anyone familiar with what I'm looking for and where I can get one ?

TIA,

JON

Cut the 6mm wrench... weld it to a junk socket (on center) then use the torque wrench.

As a last resort if you can't find the correct socket.

Crowsfoot socket is another option. Attach it to an extension to gain your clearance around the stuff inside there, and turn to click. It may not be entirely 110% accurate, but it'll be closer than "tight" or "snug"

DC or SnapOn probably have the special socket available for an arm, leg, and fistborn.
