Tools for towing

I second the recommendation for Good Sam Emergency Road Service - they've bailed me out several times. I had the tools but not the will to change a trailer tire on the side of the Intersate with 18 wheelers going by at 70 mph!

Camping World has a book on RV/trailer repair that helps + a basic tool kit- I think that book even gives a list of basic tools.

You'll also build up a stock of spare parts- electrical, plumbing, sewer connectors.

Mostly just have fun - it IS an adventure!

reflectors

along with everything else mentioned, a good set of emergency reflectors, like the truckers have, to put out on the highway.

Ditto here. I keep a set of the kids orange soccer cones in the bed box for this reson.

I bought two sets of Metrinch when they first came out. I gave one set to my Dad when he retired and moved up to the mountains (not that he is a great tool user but at least he has the basics now) and keep the other in my truck. They come in a nice case and, as the name implies, fit both SAE and metric hex head fasteners. They have been indispensible at times both on the road and at home. Whenever my 73 Winnebago rolls out they are inside it along with alot of the aforementioned items.



Another thing to take is a good flashlight with spare batteries and a foam rubber mechanic's pad to lay on if you have to squirm under anything of the side of the road.



Of course, my wife squawks about "just drive the tool body and be done with it".
