Guy's, went on a fishing trip and my freind ask how fast the cummins can go and I said lets find out:eek: from 55mph to 105 mph I had great pick-up:D but it was like I hit a wall from 105 to 108 took forever:confused: is this a sign of a bad lift pump or a sign of lack of better judgment thanks Don

What rear ratio?

If you got 4. 10's that's probably as fast as you're going to go. My truck(5spd. with 3. 55s)tachs out at about 125... . Doug

If I'm not mistaken, I think at that speed you start having the fuel cut back by the computer. I believe that the truck is limited to around 115. I've had mine to 110 and seem to have alot more to roll into for throttle if I want. That was when I had just the EZ. I'm not sure now with the 275's and EZ-comp. Tis alot quicker now. :D

Too many valves slow you down!

Too bad you have too many valves, a 4000 RPM governor spring kit might raise your top speed a bit. :p Oo. :-laf

Yeah, what's the gear? Mine goes to 110 with ease, but I haven't pushed it any further. I always run out of road and I'm fretting about my lift pump until I get a low pressure gauge on it.

Stock 235 6sp 3. 54's and 265 tires.

About a month ago, I was heading out Beaumont, Texas toward Houston on IH10, and I was following another CTD, and he must have had a box or something, 'cause he was showing some black smoke when he would pass other cars. When I got the chance and the road was clear, I tried to catch up to him, but when I hit 110, I let up as he was leaving me. I don't know how fast he was going. I have had mine up to about 114, and quit because I was running out of open space. :-laf
