Top Gear Truck contest.

Did any one watch "Top Gear", apparently paid for by Ford, but it seemed to try and conclude they all won some portion of the contest. They were just ridiculous in the contests as well as conclusions. The train pull by Ford was supposed to convince every one that it is a "Superduty" and is the reason it could pull a train. Why didn't they hook up the Ram to the train, then they wouldn't of had to wear protective goggles. At 1500 RPM peak torque the Rams tires would of hardly slipped, if at all. In order for the Ford to do it, it had to just peel out until the train moved. The GM was even funnier in a drag contest, anybody who knows the competition can tell you the GM will beat the Ford, and as far as the Ram is concerned, who cares! I didn't buy my Dodge to drag race. :-laf The house pull with the Ram was even flawed, that was proved by Newton in the early Eighteenth Century.





If anyone needs a good laugh it will rebroadcast on Friday Aug 12th at 11PM and Saturday Aug 13th at 3AM.

All the stunts on Top Gear are there to entertain not reality. The fact that you are here talking about it shows that they did what they set out to do..... Get you to watch

Hey, that's okay... I really don't care who paid for it, whether they were pulling stunts, etc. , etc. , etc. It was funny, I know why I chose my Cummins over any other truck... I know how my truck works, and I know either how to fix it or who to ask how to fix it... I know what I can do to it, why I can do with it, what I can expect from it & what is simply asking too much... If I would have wanted a Furd or a Shevy/JMC, I would have one of those in my driveway, not my Cummins. It's just that simple. Our engine is proven and strong. Their's aren't. Okay, I'm done now...

I do have to admit watching Tanner spinning multiple controlled donuts in a F450 Crew Cab Dually was pretty impressive. I don't understand why dingle fritz couldn't break the tires loose in the Chevy, mine has no problem spinning the tires.

Also pretty comical how the Dodge and Chevy climbed the gravel hill quite easily and the ford barely made it half way.

The Chevy pulled down a telephone pole? Really guys??!! I could probably do that in my dad's old ford festiva! LOL

I watch that show religiously and actually ran into Rutlage at the NASCAR race last weekend. Great guy. He's just like he is on the show. That show definitely is not a good one to compare trucks. It is just a group of guys that like anything with a motor and when given a chance to drive one, will beat the living snot out of it. That's why I watch it. I don't have the bank account to do what they do to those vehicles. I have to say, the Ford pulling the train was impressive but I still wouldn't own one. If you want a "fair" comparison, watch the boring Motor Trend type shows (although they will screw it up as well). As for me, I will continue to watch 3 guys test vehicles that they don't know what rear ends they have because at least I can laugh my but off knowing that they are just out there having fun with no agenda.

Yeh, but even as a "Truck Guy", you have to admit watching them haul tail around in the new Porsche 911 RS2GT was awesome!!! Although I found it more than a little interesting that the little "Beast" was significantly powerless due to the high ambient air temperature. ?. ?. ?
I know our trucks aren't as effected by altitude as gassers are, but I wonder if our trucks are less effected by the temperature than gassers are???
Thoughts anyone???
