Did a "moderate" drive on the "top of the world" trail with my Truck. I think Moderate is a considered opinion. It was Hard!!

The first 5 miles was easy graded then you tun and almost imediatly, it is hard. the next 5 miles is 2 hours!!

This was the hardest obstical to climb. The picture doesn't very give you how steep it is. There was other ones like this that was harder.

Here is the views at the top, I am on a uplift of a palasade hat from me in the pic below is STRAIGHT DOWN!! about 1000ft down... in the pic that looks left you will see a similar uplift like I am on. and the view past my truck to the valley seeing the colorado river in the distance. This was the most dificult trail I have ever been on and it was a lot of fun. ... I had my parents with me and they are dad 72, and mom, 71 ..... Good sports and love the great views as I do.

Beautiful pic. 's Eric!!

I think its GREAT that you took your parents with you. I'm sure they enjoyed it. I met you and your dad at MM01, showed you the Magna-X Mt. mirrors on my 00 dually, I had the first set out at the time, he's a super nice fellow, hope to see you both again!

This weekend I went out to Arches in the late afternoon to take pictures and got side tracked on a trail that takes off from the lower Delicate Arch view area. I had never been on this trail before so wanted to see where it went. Well all I can say now is that I'm very impressed at where I was able to put my truck. Here are some pictures that of course don't show how steep it really was.

This was one killer hill for a nearly stock (except for tires) 2500 Ram. I had to make several attemps but with some steering and burning of rubber I finally made it over the first big step and on up to the top.

Eric, I thought about coming out to see you at your camp but then forgot when the weekend came. I have never been to the top of the world. I have been wanting to do that trail one of these days. Now I know I can make it. :)

That is one tough obsticle!! I would have chickened out.

On the Top of the world trail, allow at least 4 hours round trip not including sightseeing at the top. The 5 miles up and back on the hard area is slow going. Low range and 1st or second gear. There is a loop at the top, go to the right and return that same way. it is easier than the left side of the loop.
