Took mine for a quick spurt up to 95 mph today - seemed to have plenty more on tap - what is the highest speed some of you other ones see with yours, and do the automatic equipped '02's do about the same?

YUP, speed kills, and I'm not real confident/comfortable yet with the general "feel" of the truck at higher speed - that's why I'm asking what OTHER guys have seen with theirs, instead of just flooring mine... :p ;) :D

132 mph

The '01 will turn 132 with DDU on 5X5. I've got a turbo'stang driver as a witness. He pulled out to pass and couldn't do it!:--)

Not sure about all the stock tires, but if I'm reading them correctly, the 265/75R16 Michelin LTX M/S tires are "R" speed rated, or 106 mph. That's also at rated load for an extended period. I do know that trailer tires can have blowouts on hot days with heavy loads and higher speeds. But I still agree with TopFuel's summary.

Disclaimer: I'm not advocating exceeding the speed limit for any reason. Always check and maintain correct tire pressure. Etc. , etc. , etc.

Boston speeders

I vividly remember being north of Boston a year ago. I was on an eight lane interstate with four lanes going in one direction. I had an empty tow dolly behind me, and I was in the second lane from the left (fast lane). I was doing 110mph, and it was obvious I was slowing down the traffic. (WHO needs to go THIS fast???) I got over into the next slower lane where I could do 95 comfortably. My 99 took the speed fine, but the interstate was a little too curvy for my tastes, so I was glad that I only had to be on it for a half hour.
