Top Speed Run

With the 4:10 and the 6-speed, the fastest I ever went in my CTD was 106. I was going down hill with the wind because the motor was spinning 3600 rpm #@$%! I just don't trust a 8000 lb. truck going that fast on bald tires. I normally keep it around 75 mph. I have had my Syclone much faster. The one time the thottle-body got stuck wide open on the turnpike (and not on purpose :-{} ) That is the only time I got scared because of speed. There was traffic around and I was going much much more than 140 (That is where the speedo stopped):{

I took it to 90 with the 7,000# TT once, just to see if it would do it. Glad the TT didn't throw a tire

134 on the GPS 3. 54 gears and 285 tires. Maybe some mods in there.

Heres a vid looking at the speedo while accelerating to 105mph. Add 7% for 285 tires, and looks like its going over 110, was still pulling.



Had to shrink it from 19meg down to 3. 5, so lost alot of quality, but you can still see...

103 with a lot left in it, but ran out of room - totally stock. I thought it cruised along nicely at 90. After that, it got to be a little scarey.



Hey Shortshift - so it's not enough to go that fast - you have to have a camera in your hand while you do it? Wow! Man, I thought I had my hands full with both of them on the wheel!

The highest mine will ever run is 116 MPH which I deem is plenty fast.

Humm.... top speed.

Fastest I had my truck going was 112 +10% up Snoqualmie pass just west of Hwy18. Wasn't maxed yet and was before the Drag UFM and DTT. Now my Mustang... . about 155. Keep in mind this was a 4 cyl. mustang with a Bombed 289 and NO suspension mods. :--) I was the limiter not the car.

At 120 mph the Dyno shut down said I exceeded the speed rating for my tires.

120 on I-90

Yesterday morning on the way to Scotty's shop I smoked a Chubby Isuckso on I-90. I say 120 mph at 35# of boost. Egt recorded 1425 f. This was with the DDUbox on 5X5 and DD-II's.

I put a set of BD-IV's in yesterday but haven't had a good clear run yet to test them out for top end but by GOD they will blow a bit of smoke at low boost ant WOT.

I've never had the truck over 85, but I saw 160 on the Aprillia's speedo last thurs. When I wanna go fast, I get on a bike.

Like mentioned previously mine pulled hard to about 115, then act like it hit a wall. We topped out right at 120.

I think my high speed days are over, unless another rice burner needs some talking to.

123 Mph. while spanking a new black Duramax. 3500 rpm. 4. 10 gears and 35" BFG muds.

It had lots of rpm left and would have gone much faster if I had the balls to go any faster. ( didn't trust 35" mud terrains with 55K miles on them at 120+ MPH).
