2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Top ten reasons to buy a Ram: # 10: The Cup holders.

For a long time it was a runing joke that the real reason to buy a Ram was for the cup holders. There wasn't a cup of soda you could buy at a fast food drive-thru that wouldn't fit and stay nicely in the well designed cup holders.



Well that all changed after one trip to KFC's drive-thru recently.

I was hunger and thristy ( so what's new ).

So I did the normal American consumer thing, got the biggest soda, just like I do at most drive-thru fast food chains.

For a $1. 50, how big could it be?



Well my '99 Ram's cup holders met their match.



Meet KFC's bucket'O'soda.

A half gallon of soda. There just isn't a cup holder that will hold this beast.

It's sized to serve a family.

I figure the cup holder in my 96 is next to worthless. It won't hold my 'commuter cup' or a 20 oz. Coke. Might be a good spot for some switches. Had a helluva time finding a spot for the switch when I put in my hella micro FFs. Life's rough... isn't it?! Complaining about a cupholder... Lord help me.

That's what I did. Yanked that sorry excuse for a cup holder out and put a plate in there with 6 switches. Looks cool.



I loved going around the corners just to see my 20 oz diet coke go flying out of the cup holder onto the floor.
