What fits these trucks? Is there another application that works well? (for instance a mid 80s ford fits my 70 chevy like a glove)

Want to have one to throw on when I go on offroading runs to camp in and store tools/parts.

Gonna get the bed sprayed with Linex this spring over the rails to protect them.

Due to the squared-off design of the 1st Gens, I think most standard toppers will look decent sitting on the bed. My aluminum topper was previously on a mid-90's Ford before I bought it and painted it to match my truck.

PS, my 1st Gen and the topper might be for sale in the near future (the 3rd Gen search is in high gear)

I borrowed a fiberglass one for a late 80s Ford from a coworker, and it sort of fits. It's a century, with a raised roof. It slants forward at the top of the front, where it meets the cab. Although I was able to get it onto the bed and close the rear window, the fit isn't perfect in terms of lining up the body lines, but it works for what I need it for.

I was lucky and found my fiberglass cap when I was in a local junkyard buying some steel rims. They had an older Dodge with the cap on it... I got it for $70. Spent a couple of hours replacing one of the wood rails that was rotted and then had it painted to match the truck.

So if you're looking for a bargain, consider the local boneyards.
