I had the BD Torc-Loc installed today but no directions on its use.

I believe when it is on green the box is off.
On yellow it seems to make no difference.
While on the red setting the convertor seems to stay locked.

which setting do I use when?

oh yea, I had the gauges installed also.

I tow a bunch. I pull an empty 7200lb gooseneck and loaded it weighs up to 26,000.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I would go back to your installing dealer and retrieve the TorqLoc installation instructions. Or contact BD @ 1-800-887-5030 and request a new set.

The UP position (red light) is MANUAL TCC lock up (HOWEVER, it may be wired to where it will only lock up the TCC with the exhaust brake activated, assuming you have an exhaust brake). This is per the BD wiring schematic. I had mine wired this way at first although, I elected to rewire it allowing TCC lock up ANYTIME I wanted. Good judgement must be excercised if you wire it in this manor. This is useful on long downhill grades where you are on and off the exhaust brake... having the TCC manually locked up allows immediate exhaust brake application without having to recapture the lock up signal from the transmission.

The MIDDLE position (white light) is OE control of the TCC (no TorqLoc intervention).

The DOWN position (green light) is automatic TCC lock up (ASSUMING YOU HAVE AN EXHAUST BRAKE AND HAVE IT ACTIVATED). This position functions the same as BD's AutoLoc.
