I need some opinions. I have a 95 and it has a BD torque converter lock up control box, it has been in the truck for years with no problems. Now the good part, I got the transmission rebuilt, tri-lock torque converter, BD valve body, mag-tex pan, B&M cooler and when I took it for a test drive it seemed to work fine. I drove 30 miles home and it started to act up, it will lock up without flipping the lock up switch and it will not unlock when stopping or slowing down unless I shift to neutral (switch is in middle position). I called the dealer and he said my lock up box is not compatable with the new valve body, so I went and got a new BD torloc box. I put it in and the transmission acts the same way. If you bypass the box everything works fine (computer is controlling it). The tricky part is when the transmission is cold the lock up works great, but when it gets to normal operating temps it goes crazy. You never know when it might lock up or if it will unlock when you want it to. Also it will not downshift from O/D either when running with torqloc. Need help, very frustrated.

Hmm with a BD VB and BD torqueloc, sounds like it should work. . I dont think the VB has much to do with this lockup problem tho. . (i could be wrong) Is there instructions with the torqueloc to cut the PCMs interface to the lockup? I would think if you're running an external control box, you dont want the PCM controlling it, which it sounds like it is, based on it works fine until hot, which is when the pcm goes to a different shift pattern. Have you tried calling BD about this? I dont have any experience with the torqueloc, but it shouldnt be too complicated of a fix... .

Good luck

ohya, and welcome to the TDR!
