Has anyone had a problem with the sheet metal being torn around the rear fender wells? This occurs at the hole (for the plastic plug for the fender liner) about a third up. The short side tears first then the larger panel side start to tear.

I have had each side repaired before and now I need to have it done again (under warranty). The only factors that I think could affect this is I have factory running boards and air lift bags and I drive on a lot of rough logging roads.

I was thinking about removing the rear running boards and see what happens the issue is this has occurred over years. 1st it was the left side then a couple of years later it was the right and now both sides are torn again.

This is on an 01 club cab 4x4 that I have had since is was born. Take Care, Paul

Do any of you guys think it might be the rear running boards and parking on uneven terrain? I have parked in areas of un even terrain that has affected the opening and closing of the doors. I would think that torquing of the truck bed could tear the fenders. I am kind of surprised that I am the only one who has had the rear sheet metal get torn, like I stated above this is the second time I have had to deal with this. Paul
