Wicked Cool Video

Sunday night I witnessed my first tornado. I stood on the steps of my basement stairs with my wife and daughter praying that it didn't hit our house. Unfortunately it leveled my neighbors farm, less than two miles from our farm. Fortunately no one was home at the time. It is a terrible thing to witness. The weather service said it was atleast a F-3, probably a F-4. Unbelieveable distruction. I spent all day yesterday sorting through the pieces and it will take many days to clean up. Please pray for the Noot family as they have lost everything, including some cattle, most of their buildings, machinery, and grain and crops in the fields. We are very thankful no one was killed but it is still very painfull for them and our whole community. By the way they had a nice 1st generation that was rolled up into what was left of a tree grove. I could not easily tell what it was or which was the front or back end of the pickup and also a 3rd gen that was totaled. Those are just little things compared to the rest of the distruction.

Wife & I left the tornado prone state of Michigan in 78 traded it for a forest fire state. I guess I'd rather be burned up than have something fall on me. Maybe thats why I drive a tanker.

All kidding aside natural disasters are something no one would like to experience & my heart goes out to all the families that are suffering do to one.

I've only seen rotating wall clouds once... I'll never forget it.

Now that I bought a DV camcorder - I'll never see another one... that might not be a bad thing.

I'm glad you made it through it okay and I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor...

Matt
