Have any of you upgraded your torque converter and valve body yourself? I haven't contacted DTT yet since this isn't going to be done now but I'm just trying to get some info on it. Thank you for any suggestions or experiences.

DTT install

There are some internal updates and upgrades which are a good idea at the time of install. Having someone who is knowledged and experienced with these transmissions and trucks will make the whole process go smoother and the results will be better. :D There is more to the install than taking the trans out and swapping parts. There is some set up involved and some adjustments that are critical to the correct operation. Bill can advise you on what converter would be best for your application, as well as the correct valvebody selection based on your truck and it's use. You won't regret choosing DTT. You will not believe the change in your truck. Later.

I did my own VB install. Fortunatly, the previous owner did a TC. The VB install was very straight forward and Bill K. insisted I call him on a Saturday when I was in the middle of the task. He had me do a few checks while the old VB was out. I wouldn't hesitate to do the TC myself either. Although I don't need the truck as a daily driver either so I would be able to take my time. There are a lot of people out there to help. Good luck on the decision.
