Loads from South Carolina????

Va to Calif. best route in Jan?

As you can see from my signature I have quite few miles towing as I should, I do it for a living. I can not afford a full transmission swap out at the time. Any of you just done a t/c change out... ..... how did it change your towing performance? How about your worries as far as the rest of the transmission? I tow anywhere from 8,000lbs to 25,000lbs... . that is including the trailer weight.

Jason, while you can do the Tc alone,it really isnt the way to do the job, with 156K,and with the heavy pulling you do,if its coming out for a TC,the entire unit should be checked at this time, and in addition, the line pressures should be brought up,and new seals put in it,with the high miles. A VB ,TC and upgrade kit is the right way to do it. What are you looking for with a TC,improved perfromance in fluid coupling,is what im thinking. As you know there are a number of vendors selling trans upgrades,Id talk to the Trans Vendor you will use,get their opinion on what else should be done at this time. if this truck is your living its no time or place to skimp on $$,especially with turned up power. Good luck John

Another problem with installing a TC now is that when you do have your transmission rebuilt, the installer won't wan't to reuse your "new" converter due to the likelihood of contamination.
