How to use OD on/off switch

Where is it? I'm trying to remove the check valve to get better flow thru the cooler (per Bill K. ).



I just pulled both the quick connect lines going to the transmission cooler and saw no sign of a check valve. I could blow air thru the cooler from either direction. I'm referring to the connectors with the clips on then where the solid silver cooler line connects to the rubber hose that goes to the cooler. I have the shop manual and see the reference to the converter drainback valve but sure don't see where it is.



Any ideas where to look?

Assuming it's located in the same place as my 95's, the check valve is located in the short (approx. 6") piece of hose connecting one of the cooler lines to the heat exchanger mounted on the side of the motor.
 
The one way flow valve on the 24 valve is located in the heat exchanger fitting not the transmission line like the 12 valves. Follow the transmission line coming out of the transmission that goes under the transmission to the passager side of the engine underneath the exhaust manifold. When you remove that fitting make sure there are no children around foul language tends to slip out your mouth. Once you get the fitting off it usually dumps a pint of ATF all over you're face while you are looking up at the fitting. But that's OK because it will stop you from saying futher foul language because you will be busy getting a bath. It's a good thing Vinnie does this at our shop. :D :D
 
Thanks, Stefan. So it's located in the fitting on the primary transmission cooler? Is the check valve in the outlet (left side) line?



Does DTT sell a replacement to that short rubber hose, containing the check valve, on the 95 cooler line? One without a check valve?

Sounds like it would be easier to remove the check valve in the line than to remove the factory installed one in the fitting. Which do you think would give you the best flow rate?

Usually by removing the rubber line flow is improved but very minimal difference that's only because the rubber line sometimes gets a kink. Our replacement for that rubber line is about 1/8th shorter to help eliminate any chance of a kink.
