Well guys gonna put in a Dunrite single disk. I know it's not the best option for high performance... but i got it for $200 so I can't complain. Dunrite says it's rated for 450 HP, but we'll see :-laf . My question is, is there anything I should look out for when I install it? Does anyone know where I can get good instructions? The service manual is pretty clear, but they don't tell me whether I should put oil in the new converter or not. Thanks in advance.

I don't put oil in the new convertor, just make sure the input hub is oiled up, you might change the seal on the pump while you are there. Pretty straight forward really.

I always put fluid in the transmission. It takes a while until it all seeps in. Just make sure the converter is fully engaged on the transmission. You may have to rock it back an forth to make it engage.

Should lock into 3 sets of splines and you will have be able to spin the convertor with the trans and engine attached... . so you pull it toward the engine to bolt it up... at least this is the way it works on gassers.

Thanks guys. I've got the factory service manual, and it sounds like a pretty straight forward install. Should I replace the pump seal? Thanks, Buck

Yes. It's just a couple bucks, and it's a pain in the butt to pull it all back apart just to have to replace it.
