PS, if you guys have got something to say to me, i prefer if you do it in public, so everthing stays above board and not subject to personal intrepretation or censorship.
Ok, Bill, if you want this public, it's fine.
Your hands are not "tied". You are not banned from posting on transmission topics. You never have been. Doing so would be foolish on our part, since that's your major contribution to this board.
There is a simple and clear set of rules which govern the rules of this board. The parts in question are quoted below.
5. Vendor Participation: Vendor input and commentary is welcomed in our Discussion Forums, however, direct solicitation is not. Vendors have proven to provide insightful conversation and commentary. Demonstrate professionalism in all post to the TDR Discussion Forums. The following will be strictly enforced:
5. 1. The TDR Discussion Forums are not an appropriate forum for emotionally charged discussion between manufacturers, distributors, dealers, shops and/or users. These forums are intended to be technical resources for members interested in learning more about the proper care and maintenance of their trucks. All Vendors will refrain from making direct, emotionally charged, posts to and/or about competitors. All Vendor posts must be civil and technically oriented. If Vendors wish to compare products with competitors, use generic references (i. e. “oiled element air filter” as opposed to Amsoil, AFE and K&N).
This means you may not imply or directly state that another vendor is deliberately lying to the public or has thier business based on unethical conduct. It means you may not, for instance, say that because Company X doesn't reveal every detail of thier products in a public forum, including pictures and engineering data it means they are trying to hide bad business practice or are deliberately selling harmful, damaging, or defective products.
It also means, for instance you cannot refer personally to other vendors in a derogatory manner, nor make personal insults directed toward other businesspeople.
I'm quite sure you and I can read the quote and the comments I posted below it and agree that there is no conflict between them.
Since you obviously are discussing something I did just a few days ago, let's revisit it slightly.
This is my request to you, quoted precisely:
I'm moving your post out of view for the moment, and asking someone else who's a little less personally interested in the topic to review it all. Please refrain from commenting on the subject again in a personal manner.
I do not know the full text of communication between you and anyone else - including other moderators or the management - on this subject, but as far as moderators of THIS particular forum go, we are in agreement that nobody, including you, be restrained from any germane topic, and that your input here has been technically excellent and a good asset to our online community.
If for some reason, what has written to you was not clear, or if what was said was not what we thought was said, I apologize. Likewise if I have been insufficient in conveying my thoughts to you. It is and remains my goal to be clear and write in terms that good-willed people would be able to understand.
I hope this clears up any misunderstanding that may exist on the part of either of us, or of the users of this forum.
Thank you
