Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my 2001. 5 locking and unlocking. I have read a bunch of the previous post and have learned a lot I didn't know about the APPS and the electronic noise, but my question is when this happens because of the noise or the APPS does the problem get worse or does it seem to stay about the same. The shudder it makes is getting worse. Also what is the normal trans. temp?



2001. 5 3500 dually/4. 10/EDGE comp/AFEcoolair induction/4"straight exhaust/all the gauges. 105,000 miles
 
I have never seen more than 150 or 160 on the trans temp. I remember reading somewhere that pulling a large load you will see up to like 360. Let me see if I can find that website I saw it on . . . . .
 
NEVER ever let the trans go over 250f. And if it gets that hot you need to do a fluid change.

At 240f ATF varnishes and at 260f the rubber seals harden quickly.

The Edge Comp with 105,000 miles is what is making it worse. transmission time. :D

I'm located in Angleton about 40 miles south of Houston. Thanks for the info. This is my first auto transmission.

Remove the apps wires from the wire bundle that leads to the ECM. It is a pain in the butt. But it works forever.

My converter is also shuddering in 4th and O/D. I was told here and by my trusted transmission guy that it will never get better, it is done and will only get worse. Mine is not related to the wiring issue addressed previously, maybe yours is, but it sounds just like what I am experiencing. It is new converter time for me, billet converter time that is, also VB and bands. $2100 from my local guy.
