Hey Everyone,

I drive a '99 2500 Turbo Diesel Quad Cab 4x4 Auto. The torque converter has been locking and unlocking on me when the truck is in over drive. I've had this problem and read about this problem so I tried to fix it. I installed the DTT electric noise filter, and it has worked sometimes. I moved the grounding wire from the noise filter so it is attached to the body of the truck. That usually works for a few months, then it acts up again. Then I move the ground wire and it works for a few months, so the cycle goes. I know this is nothing new, but I'm hoping for some good insite as to what to do. Thanks for all your help.

Seth, go to Suncoast Trans site and download the PDF file instructions for this problem re; T/C lock-unlock. Should solve your problem.

In a search you will find, dirty battery cables/connections, alternator dieing, bad batteries. All related to electrical noise.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the input. I completed the work suggested with the SunCoast directions. I did the work on Saturday, and I've put over 100 miles on the truck and it has been flawless thus far. Thanks for the help.
